18th Birthday Card

I made a very similar card to this once before (see 22nd August). This was for my best friend's 18th Birthday...

♥ I used a ready made black card (available from The Works).
♥ Floral print from the following site: sign up for their newsletter (http://www.making-handmade-cards.com/free-handmade-card-newsletter.html) this also helps when thinking for card making ideas ;)
♥ Small strip of ribbon, just to cover the join between the floral print and the card. I found a haberdashery stall at my local market - it was amazing, I think 35p for 1/2 a metre of ribbon. As you can imagine, I went wild!
♥ I got the '18' from her invite to me (cheeky, I know, but it's recycling and I think it looks good).

What I love about this design is that it's so adaptable, different colours, ribbons purposes etc...
Anyway, I hope you like it! Leave any questions or comments :) xx

Fruity nails :)

Watermelon nails

You'll be pleased to know that this is a really easy look to achieve - just as well considering how poorly the photographs came out!

Okay, all you need is pink nail polish, black nail polish and green nail polish. I used a very dark blue (midnight) as I haven't got black. Green may seem a strange colour to buy but luckily it's this season's colour and you can find it everywhere. Mine is Collection 2000 and it's called 'Ninja'. Ooh, it's also a good idea to have a kebab skewer or cocktail stick (or something similar) and some clear top coat. Make sure you have a thick piece of paper to hand as well.

Basically, all you need to do is:
♥ Paint your nails with the pink and wait for it to dry.
♥ When dry, drip a blob of black onto the thick paper [STEER CLEAR OF YOUR CLOTHES!!] then take the cocktail stick and dip it into the blob, dot black dots onto the pink base coat, avoiding the tip. You may need to dip the cocktail stick separately for each dot.
♥ When dry, take the green and gently coat the tips, this will be the watermelon skin :)
♥ Finally, when it's all dry, coat your nails in clear polish and wait to dry once more

Good Luck! I look forward to hearing about your attempts; also, let me know if you've tried anything similar or have any ideas :)

Lilac Fever

I made this for my best friend's 17th Birthday (as you can see!).

♥ I used a ready made black card (available from The Works).
♥ I printed the butterflies from the computer as well as the central piece (Microsoft Word-a simple lilac square shape, and a smaller white text box, [font: Floral Dawn, from www.dafont.com]).
♥ Floral print from the following site: sign up for their newsletter (http://www.making-handmade-cards.com/free-handmade-card-newsletter.html) this also helps when thinking for card making ideas ;)
♥ Small strip of ribbon, just to cover the join between the floral print and the card

Hope you like it! Leave any questions or comments :) xx
